Here I am...In Bermuda!

Congratulations to everyone who guessed right--I'm in Bermuda! Becker and I are here for a wedding tomorrow, so today we got to run around the island and check things out. Whenever we travel, we go on a little "travel safari", which basically means that we go shoot some personal art shots around town. It's always a lot of fun, and we always end up learning a lot about wherever we are. Today was no exception! You can ***CLICK HERE*** for more shots on Becker's blog .

The first thing we did today is go to the underground caves. I have actually always wanted to go to caves like this, where stalagtites and stalagmites grow all over the walls of a cave. I was a bit dark down there, so I didn't shoot much, but here's one shot where you can see quite a bit of the cave, as well as the super clear water beneath:

That was a lot of fun, but we were both excited to go into town and really see the rest of Bermuda. Bermuda is its own country, and all of the people that live here are quite well informed on its history, and are very knowledgeable.

One cool thing that is here in Bermuda is the oldest church in the western hemisphere. It was founded in 1612 by the first settlers here:

It must have been restored several times, because I didn't think that it looked that old at all!

I guess they used to behead people here in Bermuda:

This area of town is really relaxed and quaint. This is the town of Old St. George, and is really nothing like Hamilton, the main city in town. It is much more rustic. Even the dudes on the street signs are taking it easy:

A few shots from the street there:

We wandered by a very old graveyard outside of a church. It was a little creepy, but I couldn't resist shooting a couple frames anyway:

One odd thing that we saw was what is called the Unfinished Church. It is unfinished because because it was being built to replace the oldest church, but the people didn't like that much so they never did complete the project. It was cool looking:

We grabbed a bite to eat and then shot a bit more around town.

Part of my ongoing Lock Project:
