Flying

I have always loved traveling and flying, which is one of the reasons I feel so blessed and lucky to have the job that I have. While I don't love the process of waiting in airport lines and that kind of thing, I generally enjoy the flights and air travel as a way to get from place to place. I just think its so cool!

This past weekend, I actually had a day when I didn't shoot, so I decided to take a trip down to San Diego to visit with my friends Chris & Matt. Chris and Matt are two of my best friends from college, and I can't believe that somehow we all ended up out in California! The two of them are some of the most fun, interesting, wild people I know, and I won't even get into the kind of schemes they pulled back at NCSU. That's a blog entry for another day.

In any case, Chris is a pilot now and it was a beautiful day to take out a little plane and cruise the San Diego area. Chris, Matt and I (plus Harley, Chris's dog) piled into a little Cessna and flew up the coast and saw some sights. I actually got to do some of the flying too, which was so fun! We stopped at tiny Ramona airport and practiced "touch and go's", landing and pulling right back up again and I think I was starting to get the hang of it. It's really cool to be on the other side of the flight experience as the pilot instead of the passenger. I only had my point & shoot camera with me, but I did manage to grab a few shots with that:
