Family

Ever since I moved to California almost a year ago, I have realized how much I love and care about my family. Growing up, I spent every summer from the time I was seven away at summer camp where I lived from June-August with only one visiting day. I never really got homesick, but it was never permanent like living in California is. I guess its just the natural pattern of life, but I really miss being able to just drop by for dinner or hanging out whenever I want to, and that has been the biggest change that living so far away has brought. Needless to say, it has been really nice to spend some time at home.

One interesting thing about my family that has changed recently is that my brother is in culinary school to become a chef, and also has a job at a prestigious country club near where he goes to school where he has been learning so much. He actually made pretty much the entire Christmas dinner for 9 of us tonight, I think the only person more shocked than me was my mother!

I tried all day to get a good photo of my dad, but like Wilson on Home Improvement, he refused to show his face:

One of the gifts I got today is this game called Things. It is kind of like Apples to Apples and is super fun! Sometimes a few friends and I get together in California and play games, and this one will definitely be coming back with me. Highly recommended:
