Raleigh, NC-October 21-23It's been awhile since I posted a personal entry
(actually, its been a little while since I blogged at all), mostly since all
I've done in the past couple of months is work! Don't get me wrong, I love my
job and I love traveling, but it leaves little time for other things such as
blogging. Don't fear, faithful readers, soon you'll get more Jessica Claire
Photography news and info than you probably even want, I have a long flight to
catch up on my blogging! I have a bunch of new entries just waiting to be
uploaded, so check back in the next day or two for more
:)
This particular entry is filed under personal, because I actually got to attend a wedding event as a guest! I was back to NC this weekend to shoot Jimmy & Amy's wedding, and I went to the rehearsal dinner to celebrate with them and catch up with a few old friends. Suffice it to say, a good time was had by all and tonight really reminded me of how much I miss my friends from college. It felt so good just to kick back with a few drinks, stick my foot in my mouth just like the old days (was the count total 9??), and relax for an evening. I want to talk a little more about some of the people in the picture below, which might be a little dull considering that 99% of you reading this don't know them, but what the hell, its my blog!! Top left pic: Dave & Julie (and Jason, but he's besides the point in this one :) ) Ok, so this is the first time I've even seen Dave with a girlfriend, but wow, did he ever pick someone fabulous! Dave and Julie are what it means to really compliment each other. While Dave, more often than not, can be found studying and adding to his ever-growing music collection, Julie is totally out there, life of the party fantastic! She had Dave out on the dance floor at the wedding pretty much the whole time and this girl tells it like it is. I have never seen Dave happier, and hopefully if they decide to get married, the wedding won't be in Ithaca because its too damn cold there. Don't let the math fool you though--Dave showed his real personality at Doug & Lynette's wedding last year--Julie just brings it out a little more often! Middle top pic: Jason is completely hilarious! I wish that I had a decent picture of him and Allison, but in every picture although Allison looks like her usual gorgeous self, Jason looks like an idiot. Even though I look a little idiotic in this photo, I think it represents well the mood whenever Jay & I get on the subject of making fun of something. I wish I'd gotten to hang out with Jay & Allison more, we'll have to set up a poker night next time I'm in town! Top right pic and second row left pic--Mike. The first photo of Mike is with his dog Macgyver who was visiting from Charlotte for the week. Macgyver is a miniature greyhound and when you tell him to say "Mama", he throws his head back and lets out this ridiculously loud wail. It is so funny--well, its a little annoying, but still definitely funny. As you can see in the second photo of Mike, he is holding his hand to his head like a gun. Mike hates taking pictures with me--I don't even have one decent one, which is really too bad. Mike is even kind of cute when he's not being a total asshat like he is in this photo. Mike is pretty much my favorite person. If I want someone to tell me the 100%, no holds barred truth about anything (or even if I don't), Mike is always first in line. Even though I pretend not to like it, I really do. I can always count on Mike to listen to me whine and to call me two hours before he's allowed to (I've tried to explain that California is three hours earlier than Raleigh, but the info doesn't seem to stick). Middle pic--Me, Jimmy & Mike--I am so glad I have this photo! Jimmy & Mike are my two best guy friends and I love them to death. Especially when neither of them is making a rude gesture or pretending to blow their head off at the thought of taking a photo with me. Right Middle Pic--A self portrait Third Row Left Pic--Me & Matt Garrett--iI was so great to see Matt Garrett! Although he didn't bring his guitar and serenade me with the "D" song, it's been about three years since I've seen him but it seemed like yesterday. Matt lived with Jimmy in college in the apartment right below mine, so we spent a good deal of time together. Matt has a fondness for drinking and whistling at the same time, and the word, "allegedly" Third Row Middle Pic--Me & Amy's sister, Maddie--Maddie is awesome! Maddie is also giving the boys at NCSU some serious trouble already, I can tell. I got to know Maddie last year when I shot her senior pictures, and she made a wonderful maid of honor for Amy. She also broke it down at the reception and did the worm, but I'll save those photos for the wedding gallery :) Bottom Row, Left & Middle Pics--Me & Amy and Jimmy & Amy-- I love Amy. I love Amy for Jimmy, and vice versa. I'm not going to talk that much about them here, since they got married this weekend, they get an entry all their own--scroll down for that! Bottom Right Pic--Matt & Jay--I have no idea what's going on here, but look how secure they are! Jay likes to whisper sweet nothings in Matt's ear... ![]() www.jcsphoto.com
