Stephanie & Bryan-May 6, 2006 in High Point, NC

Stephanie and Bryan were absolutely meant to have the perfect day for their North Carolina wedding yesterday. Even though the forecast was for rain all weekend, when I woke up on Saturday morning there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it stayed that way all day. This morning when I left NC it was pouring down, so obviously it was just holding out till the festivities were over.

Stephanie and Bryan found me online as most non-California brides to and I was so excited because their wedding also meant a trip home. Even if I hadn't had the added bonus of seeing my family, this wedding was definitely an event to fly cross country for. It was just a truly gorgeous wedding, and every member of Stephanie's family contributed to making it happen. I think that Stephanie would make an excellent CEO of any company because while she obviously had a hand in everything, she delegated things to the best possible people who all worked together for a really fantastic day.

Stephanie's mom is a decorator who worked for ages on the house, and Darin Asselin did the flowers and design of the reception. It's almost impossible to explain well (so I'll post a photo), but the tents were in three different levels over their sprawling backyard. In the center was one of the most interesting, cool cakes I've ever seen. Stephanie's brother, an excellent chef, devoted the entire day to preparing all the food with his team for the 400+ guests. Stephanie's father surprised the couple with one of the best fireworks displays ever!

Another great thing about this wedding is how well the two families blended together and cared about each other and the couple. I was never able to tell who was there for whom, and everyone just danced and ate and had a great time! After you check out my faves, CLICK HERE FOR A COOL SHOWIT 2 SLIDESHOW from the wedding.

*photographers, if you want to buy showit, go to the showit website*. It is great and I highly recommend it!

The flowers were so great, done by Sami Price (justpriceless2@aol.com). Each bouquet had a different brooch:

I was so into the back of Stephanie's gorgeous Ulla Maija gown:
