For the first time in a long time (and by no coincidence because we had the youngest baby this year), we got to stay home for the holidays and our families came to us! It was so nice to decorate, hang out at home, and just enjoy the past few weeks without having to brave the airports, traffic, and massive amounts of things to pack. It probably won't be this way again for quite awhile but we sure did enjoy it this time!
We kicked things off by hanging out with my mom for a week after getting back from the Cayman Islands for Carrie & Kevin's wedding. We did our Christmas with her--both Locke and Acey were TOTALLY spoiled by her!
Locke is a little young to open gifts but Acey loves it!
There's this chicken soup recipe I've been trying to recreate for the past 10 years or so, and this year I finally did it! It was a Christmas miracle!
I spent a day dressing Locke in his almost-too-small adorable outfits and taking pictures:
Mostly it went well:
Until it didn't:
Acey posing for her Christmas portraits...and Locke photobombing the photo (usually it's the other way around!)
We took a trip to Disneyland with all the nieces and nephews! Locke had a great time--here he is with his cousin Makenzie:
And with the others (minus Jake--with a group of 13 people, someone was always in the bathroom!)
I was so surprised at how well Locke did at Disney! We were there for a LONG day and he pretty much smiled or slept through the whole thing. He loved the parade!
He is such an easy baby to make smile-it is really cute and fun especially this time of year:
On Daddy's shoulders:
All dressed up in his Christmas outfit!
I know it's similar to his Thanksgiving outfit, but we did add a hat and red sweater (thanks for the sweater Tim, Erik, Sheri & Nicole)!I
Michael took a few photos of our family that I LOVE:
The favorite gift Locke got? This adorable pillow pet that looks just like Acey! Jeff's family does Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve, so he had two cute sets of pajamas, for the evening and for the morning:
The favorite gift I gave? Matching Converse for Jeff & Locke!
It was so much fun to relax, have fun, play games, and just generally take a break for the past few weeks. This year has seen a LOT of changes for me personally and I feel like I have so much energy and so many ideas of things I want to do this coming year! Every now and then it's good to take a step back and a deep breath, and just ENJOY life. Too much social media, blogging, plans, and business leads to exhaustion, and I feel better than I have in a long time.
Maybe it's because I finally discovered and am taking part in PINTEREST. I mean, how can you not love that place?!
Anyway, there are TONS of weddings, shoots, and fun things to blog and post about in the next few weeks, months, and year. I hope you're ready...I am!
