Laura Novak Gets Hitched!

Mon. February 4, 2008   |   i do
Laura Novak is married! This past weekend, I made the trek to Delaware to be a bridesmaid in one of my best friends' wedding. She had a perfectly beautiful day. When I arrived on Thursday night, it was cold, and then it rained all day on Friday. But when we woke up Saturday morning (can you consider 5am morning, or is that still night?), the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day!

I wasn't really shooting this wedding at all. As a bridesmaid, my main job was to look hot and to do Laura's bidding like any good bridesmaid should. However, Laura is just so stylish and adorable, I found it hard not to shoot some. The main photographer was Anna Kuperberg, who will hopefully have images up on her blog in the next day or two. Also shooting were Rachel and Andrew from LaCour, I'm not sure how you could beat that team!

Anyway, here are the events of the day as I saw them. Congratulations Laura and John, I love you guys!

Laura, first thing in the morning, bright eyed and ready to go!

This was my bouquet. It's gorgeous!

The flower girl basket. This thing was pretty heavy!

Laura's purse:

You know she'd do a cool veil:

I actually picked out the shoes. That's her dress on the right...more about that in a minute:

Laura was getting all prettified while I was checking out the details:

Back to the dress--yes, it was pink! The dress was custom made by Birnbaum and Bullock

Becca and her daughter, flower girl Hannah, getting ready:

I love this one:

Jamie helping out too:

Might be my fave of the day:

I didn't shoot the ceremony at all, because I couldn't figure out how to manage down the aisle with both my bouquet and camera :). It was a beautiful (long) Catholic ceremony. John had the best reaction of any groom--he was beaming ear to ear the whole time Laura came down the aisle.

i would not be a good friend though, if I didn't shoot just a few backlit portraits after the wedding. These were done in about 30 seconds:

The reception was gorgeous. It took place at Archmere and the decor was fantastic:

This was the pattern on the invites, napkins, everything:

The signature drink--the Phototini! It was delicious. This one was mine, which is why it's already half gone...

First dance:

The end!

Behind the scenes! Here are Jesh De Rox and Anna chatting at the rehearsal dinner:

Rachel stalking the dress:

Andrew going incognito with a small lens ;)

Not shooting but there as guests, the fantastic Jen Dery and John Mireles

And last but not least, official photographer Anna Kuperberg

Becca just emailed me this shot of me from the photobooth Laura had set up--so you can see my hot bridesmaid getup :)
