1.22.13, 10:15AM Alessandra: Hello Jessica,
Where do host your blog? Where did you get the template? I love the way it looks.
Thank you!
10.24.12, 11:47PM alanc230: It's not an easy task, that's for sure.
8.21.12, 8:59AM Jared Rey - Dallas Wedding Photographer: Thanks for sharing this video. I have been following for years and it has been a pleasure watching you transition into marriage and now motherhood. Congrats!
7.19.12, 2:47PM Karen (Mikols) Bonar: THANK YOU for posting this, Jessica! I have a 6-week-old and am losing my mind. I can't work at all ... it's good to see other moms I respect running their businesses!
7.5.12, 8:54PM Vivian Doan: Jessica, you are still shooting wedding, does this mean that your husband is watching Locke? Also, congrats on the Facebook announcement!!
7.4.12, 1:02AM Kelly: So very true, I completely know how you feel. It's amazing what us, Mothers, manage to get done.
7.3.12, 10:34PM Tate Mcgee: Jessica, you're not only a great inspiration to working moms but to moms and pops in general.
Thanks for the share!
7.3.12, 1:03PM Heather: Thank you for being open & sharing this. :) I have someone come in once a week to help and depend on nap time a couple more days a week to keep up with work. Glad to hear I am not the only one trying to be realistic with mom vs. work time.
7.2.12, 9:01AM Amber Byrd: Hello! First of all I have been a fan for years. You have a sparkle in your eyes and voice that translates to your work and I have always loved that! My questions is how do you make time to work on your own pics of you and Locke. I take pics and never seem to get around to editing my own Lila Byrds pics and am always frustrated! Any advice? Congrats on life you are a rockstar!
7.1.12, 1:31PM Jackie Beale: That is so true Jessica. I am also a new mommy to an eight month old son. I am a wedding photographer running a business from home and trying to take care of him. I have realized that I need at least 1 day out of the week for full editing with no interuptions. Thankfully, my mother lives 5 minutes away and she is able to help. It definilty helps to organize your days :)
6.29.12, 9:51PM central coast photographer: That is the spirit of a mother. Love this. It is really inspiring for all mothers out there.
6.22.12, 8:06PM Rob Dunning: I've no idea how you juggle it all ... but you do it so well :)
6.19.12, 3:33PM rachael: great post! it can be tricky to balance both at the same time for sure.
6.12.12, 4:13PM Amy Scaife: Thanks so much for this! I am a working photographer, weddings and commercial stuff, but my partner and I are planning on starting a family soon which I am excited about but also a bit terrified. I'd be interested to know from Jessica or any other mother/photographer who's reading this; how do you handle those far in advance bookings (made pre-pregnancy) which turn out to be right around the size-of-a-whale/due date? Cheers everyone! a x
6.8.12, 9:31AM Kevin Le Vu: Jessica, this is definitely an inspiration and i have to say i can relate with the same situation of multi-tasking and managing a business.
6.6.12, 3:26AM Melissa Jill :): Love this Jessica! Thanks for taking the time to share on camera! You look great and it's fun to see you!
6.4.12, 2:54PM kristie: thanks so much for sharing! this is exactly what i needed to hear right now. We had our first bub a couple of months before you had you little man. I totally get what you said about not being able to both work and be a mum at the same time! it's amazing how much 'spare time' i used to waste, that i didnt even know it had! LOVE your work too btw. xx
5.30.12, 1:15AM jamie: I love that you shared this Jessica! even though I don't have kids yet, it reminds me to focus on what is right in front of me in the moment. thank you! ps. locke is super cute!
5.29.12, 11:13AM Brooke Collier: this was really helpful for me to hear. thanks for sharing the details of how you're making it work. seems like you've found a really great solution that gives locke your best, and also allows you to continue doing the work you do. bless you!
5.27.12, 9:25AM Ashley Perez: I'm not going to be a mom any time soon, but there will come a day when I am and I am totally terrified about finding the balance between running a business and being a mom. Thanks for sharing your insights! I'm sure when that time comes I'll be bugging you for even more advice (:
5.24.12, 10:12PM Heather Kincaid: Such great insight and advice for new moms who are working. Definitely going to set up a similar work schedule once I'm done with my maternity leave. :)
5.24.12, 5:56PM Delbensonphotography: Wow! you are good in time management. I learned so much from your video. Thanks for sharing your tips.
5.24.12, 2:02AM Michelle: Hi Jessica, I love your blog and check it daily to see if you posted. I have to say you look fantastic. I think you were more pretty today than I have seen you. You always look great, but you had a glow today. Keep up whatever you are doing. Aloha Michelle 5.24.12, 12:43AM
bridgette davis {BDphotography}: ohhh the irony. trying to watch your video while my latest session exports from LR, but even with the volume cranked up to the max i can't make out a single word over my 9 month old boy is screaming because i'm holding the laptop instead of him. heavenhelpusall! :)
5.23.12, 5:50PM heather: Great tips!
5.23.12, 5:12PM Liz Haeberlin: Hi Jessica-- I've been following your blog off and on for 5 years. I have transitioned from being a wedding photographer to a life coach. So I can say: Bravo to YOU for setting boundaries. It looks like this is working for you! I have many clients that struggle with the same life/balance issues and it always turns out that we have to find the solution that uniquely fits that person. Thanks so much for sharing your solution!
5.23.12, 4:39PM Holley: Thank you so much for sharing this! I totally needed it today. Sometimes I just feel like I have no clue what to do. I just had my second baby and getting into the groove of working and parenting has been harder this time around. I had a good system with just the one, but now... phhewww... I feel scattered. Come evening when I would get work done before I just can't do it. I need to relax sometime too and spend time with my husband! I've known it for a while, but you have solidified it for me. I need to get someone to come over and watch the girls. So, I know you said you work while Locke naps, but what do you do during M,W,F? Do you find it hard to keep yourself from working those days also? Thanks again for always sharing!
5.23.12, 3:34PM jessica claire: [b]--i also sometimes work during locke's naps :) 5.23.12, 3:11PM
Kira Baron: Ah, Wonderful! Thanks for sharing. I'm also struggling to figure out a good balance for this. (I have a 9 month old)
Currently the only time I get to work is after my little one goes to bed.
5.23.12, 3:10PM Melissa Arlena: The mom share idea is genius!! I'm sitting here thinking what in the world am I going to do with a baby at the office trying to get work done. I know several girls having babies around the same time as me and right in my area. I'll have to see if they are interested in this!
5.23.12, 3:02PM Marcie Lynn : Way to go! I have a hard time just balancing my time between me and my Fiance! I couldn't imagine trying to do it with a baby. I better learn soon though because we plan to start trying after our August wedding. :)
5.23.12, 2:59PM [ b ]: but wait... today is wednesday? i am confused. 5.23.12, 2:57PM
Angela: Thank you for this Jessica! I have followed your work for about 4 years now, and so I saw you before you got married to now when you are happily married with your own little cute boy. I am a working photographer mom with two boys, and it really has been a struggle. But I appreciate you coming out with this and showing people how to work both, since both jobs bring you tremendous joy. Having 'just work' days seem to be the only way to do it sometimes. Nap times and night time (when I just want to be relaxing with my spouse) just doesn't cut it to get the work all done. But I will continue to find answers and solutions like you have. Thanks for the inspiration and example showing us that you can do both jobs even if it's a challenge to find that balance.
5.23.12, 2:54PM Alex: Jessica, you are the cutest! I loved this video :)
5.23.12, 2:51PM Jenni: I had to do the absolute same thing to be able to get things done with my little one! People have no idea how hard it is to run a business from home with kids! It's definitely not a walk in the park but I feel blessed to be able to be with him as much as I am! You are doing great mommy and you look beautiful too! (I'm still without makeup and in my pjs)
5.23.12, 2:43PM trent: i will say that your hair looks great :)
