Terri: One major thing I've learned as a second shooter is that when it comes to the dances, be it first dance, parent dances or anniversary dances I let my primary lead and take the position he wants to have and I stay about 3o-45 degrees to his side. That way I know I'll never be in his shots and I can keep in that zone to rotate with him and get an angle that's just different enough. Second shooting is fantastic and my favorite gig ever!
It took us a few weddings for me to mix his style into mine so that our shots came together as a cohesive package. It's important to study your lead's shots from other weddings to try and find a way to mix your style in so the album doesn't look like there were two photographers at the wedding but instead a team of photographers!
