Wedding Photographer: You really seem to know what you are talking about. I always figured that at my wedding I would spend most of my money on a wedding photographer and less on the actual reception stuff. Your dinner center pieces don't last nearly as long as the pictures of that day do. 2.25.11, 2:20PM
mexico beach weddings: What a Fabulous and superb wedding pictures …… really nice couple and great photos. They are sweet and lovely couple. Wedding couple looks so pretty. Great blog as well as great photographs. Thank you very much for sharing. 12.23.10, 2:12AM
Justin: Do you ever wish you had a zoom lens (non prime) for jumping between wide shots and close ups? 8.24.10, 2:30PM
Melody@SweetandSaucyShop: Thanks so much for the gorgeous photo! Love your work! 8.20.10, 11:41PM
Christina Glawe: I have a question: Do you use sRGB, Adobe RGB or ProPhoto? 8.15.10, 8:37PM
Health food: Hello Jessica. This is the very first time I'm seeing your pictures and also reading the comments. "What camera took that? How did you learn it?"..and so on. I don't think so. practise is one thing, but the feeling. The feeling of the world you have, that is what I see on your pictures. Thank you for that. 8.15.10, 3:39PM
Jason: i agree about the schooling, i think it you can get alot of experience and have a great photographer who's brain you can pick would be better than spending all that time and money. 8.13.10, 4:09PM
Melanie: Can't wait till part II. My Questions: Do you work with an assistant? How many Cameras do you use during a wedding shoot? 8.12.10, 6:15AM
tina: where do we submit questions? 8.11.10, 3:28PM
Tim: I am also a Canon fan. My fav lens is a EF 70-200MM 2.8L IS USM 8.9.10, 9:23PM
Koko Quiz : It looks amazing but I'm pretty sure it tastes even better. Lovely photo!! It feel like I'm standing right there. 8.9.10, 5:21PM
Gregg Shaw: Jess you have always been an inspiration to me. There are a lot of photographers out there teaching workshops and giving advice that don't possess the artistic eye that you do. That's hard to teach, but you have always encouraged others to develop it in there own way which I have really appreciated. Thanks for always being open and sharing your amazing work. 8.8.10, 2:46PM
Steve Robbins: actual experience have a great help as what have you said that you were working at the photography studio before. 8.8.10, 3:03AM
Suzanne McCorkell: I think enrolling to photography school have a great help too. 8.8.10, 3:00AM
Anne: Thank you for posting this. :) SO SWEET of you! I feel very encouraged from your answer about the lighting. We also don't use artificial lighting and I will second guess myself at times. I'm my worst critic. :( 8.7.10, 11:34PM
The real L.A. love story.: i do the same thing! canon prime lenses and no artificial lighting (for the most part unless it is indoors). but i do love the 70-200 mm 2.8. once it "locks" in, the images come out looking like they were from the magazines. 8.7.10, 1:07PM
Tracy Park: Oh...thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so glad you are starting to do this. For those of us just starting out it helps immensely. After shooting with my telephoto lens and 50 mm 1.8 (I'm on a budget ya' know) I really do prefer the prime lenses. *sigh* Will have to budget for them though....but that, too, shall come to pass. Thanks so much for your help and your wonderfully captured colors! 8.7.10, 12:09PM
Stacey Malleck: Prime lenses... yes, need to add those to my collection. Thanks! 8.6.10, 4:25PM
Jackie: awesome post! definitely helps those starting out. 8.6.10, 3:40PM
glauce: Greeting. 8.6.10, 5:47AM
Jakob Skovgaard: Hi Jessica. My first look at your breattaking pictures were about 2 years ago. Then you used a Canon 50mm F1.0, why don't you use this anymore?? 8.6.10, 3:59AM
Dorothy: Thank you so much for all your helpful advice and I love seeing all your work. I wish you would post more pictures though. :) Or more often maybe.... I'm sure you are busy though. 8.5.10, 11:54PM
Miranda Datsun: I love that you are a prime shooter! Your images are just lovely and your colours and composition are always fantastic. One question...I am a hobbyist, but I am looking for some relatively inexpensive ways to "beef up" the quality of my images. Do you recommend polarizing filters? Do you use them? I'm undecided, but I'd like a pro's POV. :) Best wishes! 8.5.10, 11:44PM
Liz: I greatly appreciate your willingness to make a statement about the equipment you prefer. Your work is beautiful...I was out today trying to mimic my favorite JC skill, capturing the glow and sparkle of leaves. I would love it if you would comment on that sometime! 8.5.10, 10:40PM
Missie: Where or who do you recommend for continuing education for photographers? 8.5.10, 9:14PM
tricia carter: i {heart} your work and even more that you SHARE what it is that makes you successful. of course we can't duplicate your style and wouldn't want to but knowing what equipment, etc. sure does help when we are trying to make good decision on spending money for equipment. even if we are not pros and just want to take photos at so some good locations that look good and like we know what we are doing :) and i'm even more glad to see that you DO NOT use reflectors or flash. i'm taking a class now and i'm glad that they are going to show me that info but i just don't find it being something that i want in my creative toolbox. and now i feel like i'm not alone. you know we all want to belong somewhere with someone sometimes. thanks again for sharing. OTHERS just don't get that concept. but they aren't pros either. I LOVE MY SHOOTSAC AND I LOVE YOUR WORK and ACEY by the way! 8.5.10, 5:40PM
sarah: THANK YOU for the info about which lenses you use and for what. INVALUABLE information. 8.5.10, 3:55PM
Christy Combs: Thank You for posting your lenses! I know it's "not the equipment" that makes the shot, but equipment does make a difference. I'm saving to upgrade all my equipment and seeing what the pros use and the shots that are achieved with them teaches me tremendously and helps me determine what lens is the best buy for my budget. Also, I'd love to know which actions you if you post a photo edited with an action. Again, I learn so much by seeing what's been used and the final results. You're so generous with your time....thank you! 8.5.10, 3:41PM
donna: My time with another studio was completely INVALUABLE!!! I'd recommend it to anyone. Glad to see you do too. 8.5.10, 3:23PM
Troy Grover: You've just tempted me to get the 100 2.8L 8.5.10, 3:12PM
Kia Gregory: Love that you're a prime lens shooter. Need to add more to my arsenal. 8.5.10, 3:03PM
ashley huffman: this was extremely helpful, thank you very much. i'm SO glad you don'tuse lighting. i've been shooting for about two years with a nikon d5000 and i'm extremely a canon girl. i was just on a budget. WELL. i'm upgrading in a month or two to the 5D Mark II. and that's such a huge boost up and i'm a camera mechanics nerd and like to know everything there is to know about how they work and their tech specs, so i'm not in any way worried about working it. i know what i'm talking about. but without lighting equipment under my belt and not really liking flash, i just didn't think myself a good enough photographer to take on the huge upgrade. you shoot like me. i love prime lenses. again, i always feel a bit left out. but thank you again. you just gave me a whole lot of confidence i was missing. 8.5.10, 2:52PM
brooke bowland: love it. thanks for the share. made me smile that you said nikon is better...hehe. i always feel left out as a nikon girl! :) would love to know what you go to for ceremony shots!? your work...i heart. 8.5.10, 2:45PM
