Lizzie: As someone who grew up with Old English Sheepdogs, you will never regret that you got one. They are the best family dogs. We had a male and female as my sister and I were children and all the kids in the neighborhood just loved them (especially where we lived when they were in the snow). They are a lot of upkeep when they have to get groomed - my parents showed our female and it took 8 hours to dry her hair - but they are totally worth it! So excited for you! 5.19.10, 3:32PM

We had an Old English Sheepdog growing up and he was one of the best dogs EVER (coming a close second only to my current little girl!). PLEASE don't shave him/her when they get older. They look so much better with full long hair, and they are just fine in the heat (the layers of their fur coat are designed to help them stay cool in the summer/warm in the winter).
