I'm so excited to finally share this shoot with you! We were also published on Green Wedding Shoes, so if you want to see and read more about it, head over there!
I can't think of a better first post of 2014 than this absolutely stunning shoot from the brilliant mind of Heather Balliet, better known as the genius behind Amorology.  Amorology is Heather's wedding coordinating business, and she is without a doubt one of the most creative and hardworking people in this industry.
Really though, I didn't have to say any of that, because you would know by just looking at the photos.  She painstakingly chose every color, concept, and detail to make this shoot stand out from the crowd!
I absolutely loved collaborating with Heather to bring this shoot to life.  The first thing we found was the location, Studio 1342 in Los Angeles.  It's a charming indoor/outdoor space that would be perfect for a small wedding or party (or photo shoot--duh).

The location has a magnificent wall of cupcakes that Heather used as a running theme throughout the shoe (shoot):

Asset162794

One thing I can't get enough of lately is laser cut items! These amazing pieces were done by Amber of Pitbulls & Posies

Asset162795

Every details was painstakingly thought out. This fab vintage couch was from Archive Vintage Rentals, pillows from Heather's own collection:

Asset162796

What would a wedding even be without incredible flowers? One of my favorite vendors that I met this past year is Nancy from Oak and the Owl--stay tuned for another ridiculously beautiful shoot featuring her blooms:

Asset162797

A wider view of the whole shebang--of course with a laser cut Rest Stop sign to top it off:

Asset162798

One thing I pretty much never get to shoot is anything on a plain white background. I have to say, it was SO much fun to get to play in that type of space:

Asset162799

Not to mention with a tabletop as effortlessly cool as this one:

Asset162800

Have you ever seen a more perfect centerpiece? Those peonies are blowing my mind right now!

Asset162801

Lots and lots of little details--ceramic pieces, laser cut names for each place setting, blown glassses, and pops of emerald green:

Asset162802

A little side view:

Asset162803

With the end chairs removed so you can see that even the napkins were perfect:

Asset162804

A contributing factor to my own personal spare tire (haha), this adorable dessert station with a cake from Hey There Cupcake:

Asset162805

Asset162806

What's better than tiny little mini hostess cupcakes??

Asset162807

A stunning emerald velvet wrapped bouquet:

Asset162808

I shot it in several different spots to find it's best angle:

Asset162809

Turns out all of its angles are flattering:

Asset162810

Some delightful little boutonnieres (bonus points if you guess correctly how many tries it took me to spell "boutonniere"):

Asset162811

A close up (this is my favorite flower):

Asset162812

A super fun way to do an escort display:

Asset162813

I bet you thought I was just going to show you details, huh? Nope!  We had an amazing couple on this shoot, Erin and Grant.  To say they rocked it would be the understatement of the year:

Asset162814

I've had the opportunity to work with models many times in the past, but there is absolutely no substitute for a real couple:

Asset162815

Erin was absolutely adorable, thanks to hair and make up by Mar, Grand Princess Queen of TEAM Hair & Makeup, as well as this darling swiss dot wedding dress fromIllume Gowns.
No way to just pick one photo of her:

Asset162816

Asset162817

Perfectly proper jewelry:

Asset162818

Grant looked dapper in a Fox & Brie bowtie, Zara shirt, and maroon skinny fit suit

Asset162819

He's the picture of a mod groom:

Asset162820

I just loved this bright blue background:

Asset162821

Check out this orange phone! I think we had one in my mom's kitchen when I was growing up:

Asset162823

Now I feel like I need it in my home again:

Asset162822

Erin & Grant had the cutest bridal party of all time, Stephanie, Dena, and Tiffany all decked out in Anthropologie & Zara wear:

Asset162824

Plus they're all ready for a vacation in style :)

Asset162825

Had to shoot them on the white background too:

Asset162826

Don't you just love their hair?? Thanks Mar!

Asset162827

Fun fact: I actually carried a small blue vintage suitcase much like this one as I exited my wedding day:

Asset162828

A study in dresses that don't match but go together perfectly:

Asset162829

A little sass up in here:

Asset162830

I seriously love these guys:

Asset162831

Grant was not to be outdone--I've never seen a guy rock this style so well!

Asset162832

The girls were up to the challenge though:

Asset162833

Erin, could you please be the bride at every wedding forever? Thanks :)

Asset162834

Asset162835

A match made in heaven:

Asset162836

Shooting portraits is my favorite part of any shoot or wedding day:

Asset162837

These two made it particularly fun:

Asset162838

I have to admit though, it's rare to shoot anything as perfectly put together as this:

Asset162839

The furniture, the location, everything conspired to create a mod but carefree atmosphere:

Asset162840

My favorite touch was probably the teal barstools:

Asset162841

Actually, no. It was the chocolate donuts as a martini garnish!  I have no idea why this isn't a standard in every bar:

Asset162842

Or should I say, filling station?

Asset162843

More etched goodness from Amber--this time personalized coasters. Personalizing things for each guest is an amazing way to take a smaller (or large) wedding from good to spectacular:

Asset162844

A perfect dinner party:

Asset162845

Cheers!

Asset162846

Asset162847

And then retire to the lounge area for a little alone time:

Asset162848

Or cocktails:

Asset162849

Asset162850

And of course great friends & conversation:

Asset162851

How else would this couple make their exit than on a scooter with a sidecar??? (Scooter from Route 66 Modern Classics)

Asset162852

A vintage scarf and some oversized glasses for avoiding the paparazzi (good luck!):

Asset162853

No way to avoid the cameras when you're this good:

Asset162854

Oh Nancy, filling the sidecar suitcase with flowers-- you're too much!

Asset162855

That's all for now!

Asset162856

Okay, one more:

Asset162857

Wait, one more:

Asset162858

That's all for now!
