Last month, I got an email from Megumi (Meg) while I was in England. She mentioned that she and her husband would be in town for a few days and wanted to do some casual portraits!  I'm excited any time I get an email like this, but I was doubly excited when I found out something else about this couple--they live in Japan!
Since the Tsunami, the people of Japan have been on my mind quite a bit.  Although Meg & Max thankfully were not affected personally by the Tsunami, they know people who were and Meg has been very involved in helping with the relief effort.
Meg & Max actually got married about three months ago, but due to circumstance didn't have a big wedding or really any photos at all!  What better way to celebrate their love than with a shoot like this one!  The original idea was going to be engagement-style photos, but Meg came across this dress and just had to have it.  Top it off with a birdcage veil and they were wedding-ready!
Max & Meg--thank you for asking me to photograph you--It was such a blast!!
Of course, it's always nice when we get a perfect day and perfect light...

Meg & Max have such a sweetness about their relationship. Everything was very natural, not trying too hard:

It helps having a beautiful setting like this nature reserve:

You can see how much Max loves her every time he looks at her:

Which he did pretty much the whole time--I don't think I have ten photos of them looking at me--Max really only wanted to look at Meg :)

I think that's adorable:

Meg--for a dress you found yesterday and just picked up on a whim--you hit a home run!

Meg's shoes were SO awesome--I can't believe she rocked them through the wilderness!

Some people just know how to relax in front of the camera--Meg does:

It makes for such beautiful, soft moments:
