New Years' Eve never ends up being the fabulous night you hope it will be. I don't know if it's the high expectations, but it's usually anti-climactic and a night better spent at home with the TV and a bottle of champagne. So when the opportunity to shoot a fabulous wedding with the super talented Becker came up, I jumped at the chance!

This wedding was SO amazing that it's going to take place in two blog posts (at least). Today is everything leading up to the reception, and then the reception and all the details. You are going to need to sit down for these next couple of posts--it's that good!

First of all, this bride was just SO welcoming, fun, and nice. She didn't know me from a hole in the wall (I was just second shooting), and made a point to ask and remember my name. I totally felt like one of the girls from the first minute I was there (it did help that there were like, 11 bridesmaids!). A moment from before everything kicked off:

I'm a sucker for daddy-daughter moments. The note he handed her says, "you're my favorite daughter". She's the only girl among three brothers:

The first moment with the bride and groom. Becker made a great point about this on his blog. He said that if you are having a winter wedding or evening wedding to just go on and see each other before. It's a great moment, plus you get awesome photos in beautiful light!
