"New Year's Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual." ~Mark Twain

Normally, I don't make official resolutions, because they're easy to stick with for a week or two, but rarely have I heard of anyone actually keeping one for real! This year though, I have a very short list of resolutions that I am going to make every effort to keep. They are:

1. Be a more positive person. Some things have happened recently that have given me a negative outlook on people and the way the world looks in general. Instead of defaulting to Debbie Downer mode, this year, I am going to make a real effort to see the lessons in things and take away more positives from situations. This includes, but is not limited to:

-no more negative talking about others for any reason
-trying harder to say something nice or not at all
-being more cheerful and less down in general

2. Work harder on physical fitness. I'm not just talking about losing weight, but becoming a more fit person and making better choices. I also really really want to lose 15 pounds. As of this morning I weighed 140.8. Ugh. When I graduated from high school, I was 117, which I know is unrealistic for me now, but I could get a little closer. The point is, it's time to start doing something about it, because it's all going downhill from here! I'll keep you all updated on this one.

3. Make at least three non-photography related friends this year. Maybe I'll take a class, or something like that, but I've been in the photography circle for so long that I feel like I don't have anyone different in my life right now!

So that's it for now. It's a short list, but maybe if I just stick to the things that are really important, it won't be so much of a list of resolutions as a few ways to improve my life this coming year.

I hope 2008 is an awesome year for everyone out there reading this! Over the next two or three days, I'll be posting shots from an absolutely AMAZING wedding that I shot (actually second-shot for becker) last night. It was so incredible, I'll break it into at least two days.
