On Saturday, I shot an absolutely beautiful wedding for Liz & Derek at the Virginia Country Club up in Long Beach. The wedding was coordinated by none other than the lovely and talented Brooke Keegan from Details, Details, so I knew that it would be a flawless, stylish affair. I was not disappointed.

Liz got ready at her grandmother's house, who lives in the neighborhood right next to the club. The house was awesome--tons of really beautiful old touches and great light. An ideal place to get ready!

I loved this stained glass window (and Liz's Shannon Britt shoes):

Liz and Derek decided to see each other before the ceremony to do all their portraits then:

The best moment of the day was during the ceremony. Derek wanted to surprise Liz by playing a song for her during the wedding. He spent months taking piano lessons and sneaking into piano shops to practice, and man, was he a hit! You would have to have been made of stone to not get emotional during the song:

He did SUCH a great job:

I love this shot of Liz saying her vows:

The last light of a beautiful day:

This was a cool touch--a martini ice luge!

The killer cake--I even had to break out my light on a stick to make light to do it justice:

The party was one to remember! Liz and Derek's theory was that if people wanted to talk to them, they could do that on the dance floor. Looks like the plan worked:

The best part of the reception--the couple hired my favorite photo booth company, Foto Cabina. If you want them to come to your wedding or party, you should shoot Carl an email--be sure to drop my name :)

I had to sneak in alone:

Well folks, that pretty much wraps up wedding season for me for 2007! It has been an amazing year, and I know that next year will be just as great. Don't worry though, I have TONS of shoots in the next couple of weeks, so the blog will be going strong :) Stay tuned for a maternity shoot, another NYC engagement session next week, my take on my cousin's wedding, a trip to NC, and tons of other stuff coming soon!
