I am going to do something here that I don't normally do,which is blog a wedding out of order. I still have to show you Tawnya & Andrew's wedding from last Sunday in Vegas, but Becker is pestering me to blog the wedding we just shot in Greece (we're still here) because I won't let him blog until I post mine :). So Tawnya & Andrew--I'm so sorry, I will blog yours as soon as I get home!

Okay, so Cortnie and Andrew here in Santorini. Boy do I have a lot to say! Cortnie first found me when she was looking for someone to shoot some engagement photos for her because the wedding was originally going to be in Cabo. I casually mentioned that I do travel for weddings, but at the time her small destination wedding in Cabo had turned into a 200 person extravaganza, so flying in a photographer wasn't going to be possible. Anyway, they eventually scrapped Cabo and landed on Greece where just about 30 of their closest friends and family joined them for a wedding of a lifetime.

Greece is the #1 place I was focusing on that I wanted to shoot a wedding. I've shot destination weddings in lots of places near the US and I was ready to become a real international destination wedding photographer!

I just envisioned the clean colors there and knew that I would be able to shoot really bright, fun, clean photos here and needed the right couple. From the second this couple booked me, they have been a pleasure to work with! Cortnie and I must have gone back and forth about 100 times over details, colors, dresses, travel plans, and it was so cool to get input into the final result. But I have to say, this wedding was the brainchild of Cortnie, Andrew, and Cortnie's mom, Terry, for sure.

They ended up shipping/flying/boating over almost everything you see at the wedding, and if you don't think that requires a MASSIVE amount of prep and planning, you are sadly mistaken!

Anyway, I bet you want to see the photos, right? I suppose I should start with Thursday, the day before the wedding. We (Becker and I) were to join the couple on a boat trip they chartered for their guests, hang out, and shoot a bit. I had no idea it would be a pirate ship!! (It even came with pirates):

The couple rented this 8mm video camera, which I can't wait to see edited into its final version:

The wedding. This wedding was unreal. Every detail you could think of, first class all the way, chic and stylish as Cortnie and Andrew, and amazing in every way. Everything took place at a killer hotel called La Maltese

They had tons of strings of these butterflies everywhere:

A bunch of the flowers for the tables, the florist came in from Athens to do a spectacular job:

The bouquet. That's Cortnie's grandmother's brooch there, and the whole beaded part and brooch actually converts into a bracelet for her to wear later:

Cortnie found vintage brooches for each of the girls to pin to their bouquets:

Nothing less than the best--rad Dolce & Gabbana shoes:

A detail of the fantastic dress:

Andrew looked snazzy himself. The dress code was for ALL guests to wear white/light colors, even Becker and I!

Andrew should model for Hugo Boss (whom his suit is by)

The groomsmen were stylin' as well:

It was an amazing day. Amazingly windy! I thought that arch was going to blow into the sea, but thankfully it stayed put:

When we left at around 1am the party was just getting started. Check back on the blog in the next few days for photos from the next day as well as art shots from Santorini.

A big thanks to BECKER for coming with me to shoot this wedding. He earned every bit of this vacation and more than I could ever pay him! Check out Becker's blog post about the wedding for more shots!
