You are about to embark on a journey that’s going to change your world, that is going to absolutely consume your life and forever change you--and it’s just the planning of the wedding!
Just Like Real Life... with a Punch!
I know that this probably isn't the first wedding photography website you've looked at, and that's a good thing! It's best to fully educate yourself on the type and style of photography you connect most with. My style is a mix of stunning portraits and impeccably captured unposed moments to show off every beautiful moment of your big day. My photography is always fresh, real, and beautiful--never tacky or overprocessed. I like to say it's just like reality...with a punch! I want you to look at your photos for the rest of your life and be able to remember the day like it was yesterday.
This Aint My First Rodeo
As a professional photographer for well over a decade, I am fully comfortable with any location, lighting, timing, or situation that could come up on your wedding day. This experience combined with consistently striking images has allowed me to be named both one of the Top Wedding Photographers in the World by American Photo Magazine, as well as one of the Top Ten Most Influential Photographers of the Decade by Photo District News. I can't wait to laugh and have a blast with you at your wedding, but I take my responsibility to bring you amazing images and service seriously. I accept only a limited number of wedding commissions each year to ensure proper attention to each and every client.
Total Care of You and Your Images
From the time you first email to the day you receive your beautifully finished custom wedding album (and even after!), you can expect to be treated like my most important priority and friend! You will never need to wonder where we are in the process or what happens next--through prompt, timely communication you will feel completely taken care of through every step of the process. Plus, we'll have a ton of fun in the meantime!
stuff i love
The entire inspiration for this site came from a white acrylic deer head I got about a year and a half ago. For some reason, I found it the PERFECT accent piece and is my favorite thing in my house. I have no idea why I love it so much...but I do!
Over the past few years, I've developed a love of interior decor and design. I absolutely ADORE the search for the perfect pillow, accessory, or throw to add to a room to really bring it together. If I had unlimited time and funds, I could make myself happy for many moons decorating and redecorating!
I find a lot of inspiration in hotels, in particular the Viceroy Hotels and the SLS Hotel. That modern yet comfortable, quirky and offbeat style suits my life and personality, and I hope to someday make my house into a place people will walk into and think, "Wow, that is amazing!". It's a lifelong project :)
The love of my & Jeff's lives right now is our Old English Sheepdog puppy, Acey! She is an absolute love, and the friendliest dog you'll ever meet. I've never once heard her bark or whine unnecessarily, and she loves all people and animals equally (although Jeff and I hope she loves us just a LITTLE bit more)!
Acey loves going to the park to play, chasing smaller dogs, shredding my Anthropologie pillows, and long naps by the fireplace. If you come to meet with me, she is available to make an appearance upon request :)
I LOVE marriage! Weddings are wonderful, but after the wedding is the best part--getting to be married to your love and sharing your lives together.
My husband is named Jeff, and he is really one of the nicest people I've ever met and my better half for sure. He's hilarious, clever, and always up for an adventure! Everyone that knows him would agree that he's just an all-around great guy. Marrying him was the smartest thing I've ever done, no question.
My grandmother taught me how to play poker as a kid, and we play at most of my family gatherings. I've always loved it, but I really got hooked a few years ago, and since then, it has become one of my favorite hobbies! I've played in the World Series of Poker twice (don't worry, I won't share my bad beat stories here!), and will hopefully be back there for revenge sometime soon. For now, I play with friends in a league as well as in the local tournament and cash scene when I get a chance. I sure do love to play (but especially, to win)!
Like most girls, I'm a total sucker for a great pair of shoes! My closet is overrun with them, and my husband is constantly threatening me with removing the ones I don't wear while I'm gone. Doesn't he know that I might wear them someday?!
I love all different types of shoes: Fancy, casual, heels, flats, sparkly, colorful, you name it! Lately I'm wearing boots most days with some fun flats mixed in for variety. I'm a size 8 if anyone ever wants to pick me up a new pair (sorry Jeff!)
My first car was a 1977 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. I loved it like only a mother could, and I'm sure that it was partially influenced by the fact that I spent my life savings of $1800 in 1996 to acquire it!
I loved that it wasn't your average first car, and that everyone in town knew it was mine. We had many good years together until I eventually ran it into the back of an 18 wheeler. Unfortunately the car didn't survive and I had to move on.
Someday when I have a big garage or at least an extra parking space or two, I hope to purchase another one (but maybe a convertible this time)!
I am a HUGE fan of Facebook! It's like high school but so much better because you can look at the people you're interested in checking out all from the privacy of your own home!
Seriously though, Facebook is such a fantastic way to connect with people both personally and professionally. I would love to see you over on my page, www.facebook.com/jessicaclairephoto --let's be friends!
**This photo is from a surprise Twilight themed party I helped throw for a friend. It was a dress-up party, so I went as a Twilight fan. I am NOT a Twilight fan.**
I've been an avid reader my entire life so it made perfect sense that I would end up an English major! From the time I first learned how to read, I've buried myself in books and stories at every possible opportunity. At the risk of sounding like a giant dork, one of my favorite things to do is curl up in bed with a good book and a hot chocolate--heaven!
I read books of all kinds, it depends on what I'm interested in at any given moment. I'm a sucker for fiction of the Stephen King variety, but I also love biographies, historical fiction, sci-fi from time to time, and psychology or business books for flavor. If you have any book recommendations, feel free to post them on my Facebook any time!
Cupcakes: The Worlds' Most Perfect Food (in my humble opinion of course!). I just ADORE a cupcake, and I have a strong preference for homemade ones. Not too many things can beat a vanilla cupcake with vanilla or chocolate frosting and sprinkles. Boring? I prefer to say CLASSIC! The photo here is from my bridal shower where we even had a "Pimp My Cupcake" bar--I love having creative friends too!
When I was a kid, my family and I didn't do much traveling outside of our area. I thought going on a plane was the coolest thing on the planet, and as an adult I've made traveling wherever I want to go a priority in my life.
I love seeing (and shooting in) new places, experiencing local cultures, and exploring other lands! I try to bring my camera and capture small details of what I see, which you can see at my other site, http://www.overlookedart.com.
If you're a bride or groom getting married somewhere else, don't hesitate to call--I'm up for it, wherever it is!
Sad but true, I'm a TV junkie--reality TV in particular! I love all those "Real Housewives" and "The Bachelor" shows, and if it's trashy and on TV, I've probably seen it.
My current favorite shows are Dexter, Mad Men, and Entourage. I love to turn on a great show and edit photos, return emails, and surf the net. Although I don't have a ton of time for TV watching these days, I work best with some background noise, and hey, why not have a show on in the background that's awesome :)
